ABOUT VINNI
What’s the first thing I’d like to tell you? Well, each dish that I prepare is a homage to my roots and this is my story…
Raised in Royal City, Patiala, Punjab, I developed an unwavering passion for food at an early age and an appreciation for the culinary arts, particularly inspired by my mother who taught me from a young age how to select the best ingredients and lovingly prepare healthy dishes for others to enjoy.
Patiala is renowned for its rich and diverse cuisine, with delicacies such as Patiala Shahi Paneer, Butter Chicken, and Kadhi Chawal being among the local favourites. Inspired by these flavours, I honed my skills by taking cookery lessons in the city, and learning the intricacies of traditional Punjabi cooking. This early education laid the foundation for my culinary journey, allowing me to bring the authentic taste of Patiala to food lovers everywhere.
Over three decades ago, I arrived in the UK as an immigrant, seeking new opportunities and a brighter future. I started working in McDonald's, where I dedicated 13 years of my life and became a diligent manager. During my tenure at McDonald's, I gained invaluable skills in leadership, customer service, and operational management. It was a period of growth and learning, where I encountered diverse challenges and cultivated resilience.
After running a convenience store in Backwell, Vinnis the local, I returned to my culinary roots and established a small Indian takeaway in Backwell. Each dish I create is a homage to my roots, prepared using fresh ingredients and time-honoured techniques passed down through generations. I am profoundly grateful for the opportunity to bring a slice of India to the warm-hearted locals of Backwell and the surrounding areas of North Somerset. With each passing day, my passion for cooking intensifies, helping me spread happiness and delight through my authentic Indian cuisine.
